Creamy, Whipped, Sweet Dip – Perfect for Spring Entertaining!!

This Cadbury Mini Eggs Whipped Cheesecake Dip is so easy to whip up! It’s my take on the viral Cadbury Mini Egg Dips!

The cream cheese base lends creaminess with a little tang. Instead of Cool Whip, I whip fresh heavy cream with malted milk powder! (which also stabilizes the whipped cream!) The malted milk powder gives a little bit of a malted milk ball or malted milk shake flavor. You can serve with fruit, salty pretzels or simple chocolate or vanilla cookies! It’s sure to be a crowd pleaser at your Easter or spring celebration!

What is Malted Milk Powder?

Malted milk powder is a fine textured, yellow colored powder consisting mostly of malted barley and wheat flour. It adds that distinctive sweet, toasty – somewhat “nutty” flavor that is common to old fashioned malted milk shakes, malted candies (malted milk balls) diner pancakes & waffles, hot chocolate and baked goods. It’s gaining popularity these days in being used to add flavor, texture and browning to baking recipes. At most well-stocked grocery stores, you can find Malted Milk Powder in the baking or hot beverage sections of the store.

Technically Cadbury Mini Eggs do not have malt in their ingredients, but I do really like the added malt flavor. Reminds me of malted milk balls and is delicious in the Cadbury Mini Eggs Whipped Cheesecake Dip!

I actually got to tour a Malthouse (that creates malted grains for spirits) years ago and I created a Pilsner Malt Oatmeal Cookie Recipe using their malted grains they sent me home with!

What Can I Substitute the Malted Milk Powder With?

If you don’t want to use malted milk powder, you can swap the 1/4 cup malted milk powder for 1 Tablespoon instant vanilla pudding mix. It will lend a little vanilla flavor instead of the malt flavor. Both of the ingredients provide some stability to the whipped cream so it will hold up in the Cadbury Mini Eggs Whipped Cheesecake Dip for several days.
